TV Reporting & Ethical Limits: A Discussion Forum at the Press Club of India organized by Campaign for Khurshid Anwar


A Discussion Forum to discuss TV reporting and its ethical limits in the background of Khurshid Anwar’s media trial and his subsequent suicide was organized on 28th December 2013 by the members of Campaign for Khurshid Anwar at the Press Club of India.

The event saw a sizeable turnout with many prominent intellectuals and members of the media like Om Thanvi, Ali Javed, Purushottam Agrawal, Deepak Sharma, Amit Sengupta, Annapurna Jha and others. Family and friends were present in large numbers too including elder brother Ali Javed, General Secretary of progressive Writers’ Association.


Rahul Jalali, ex-President of the Press Club of India moderated the discussion. The discussion threw up interesting and relevant issues like the scuttling of due process of law being harmful for women in the long run, the need for media responsibility to ensure sustained free space among others.
